KOFFI THE MAN WITH MANY FACES.....

Koffi idowu nuel is a man of many faces,a talented young man,he is one of the few in the
entertainment industry who is a comedian, music artiste, actor,mc and a whole lots..
He is a family man, married with 2 lovely kids...

                                     MEET KOFFI THE ENTERTAINER

Tell us more about who the man KOFFI is?

Koffi is a man obviously born to a togolese mum and a nigerian father from ibeju lekki lagos first of 4 kids. Entertainer. Married with 2 kids

School background?

A.D.R.A.O nursery school victoria island, kuramo primary school victoria island, molusi college ijebu igbo ogun state, university of lagos

What was the impression of your parents when you wanted to start comedy?

Dad had no problem whatsoever besides i didnt just jump into comedy it sort of metamorphed from my playful nature.mum was scared at first but eventually gingered me more.

Your first show..where and when was it...how was it like...?

Koffi's komedy konvention march 27 2004 muson centre, quite an eye and mind opening experience, huge success for the first time.

I can’t believe how many amazing comedy-related talents you have: stand-up, improv, solo storytelling, theatre, film and television acting, and voiceover. Whew—I hope I covered them all! What lead you to pursue so many different comedy forms?

My inability to be lazy or stereotyped i believe all gifts or talents should be expressed as God given yes you missed out singin dancing writing directing producing.lol

Did you always want to be a comedy performer?

Nope was always just a jolly good fella until someone pointed me in the direction of theatre 15 unilag for training in the arts

Do you think comedic abilities are something someone either has or doesn’t? Or do you think it’s something that can be learned?

You can only learn to master a ceremony but comedy is an inborn gift

I have to admit; I’m totally fascinated by your voice-over acting, so I want to start there. How did you first discover you had a talent for doing voices?

As a comedian one of the attributes of the trade is mimicry, mockery and re-enactment of scenarios and all these require a lot of voice characterisation. so doing voice over for a comedian is quite natural however the first major v.o i did was for Tunde Kelani mainframes YELLOW CARD pidgin version.

In your career, you’ve had so many wonderfully successful shows and voice overs, which do you consider the most interesting and challenging..?

YELLOWCARD  because it was the first major and most tasking because it had to be done precisely on timing by lipsynching in pidgin to someone else's vocals already done in queens English.

If any of our readers were interested in trying to break into comedy, what advice will you give them..?

Discover yourself from your immediate environment first let your friends colleagues and closest associates be the first to assure you that you are funny not by cramming other people's jokes and retelling them.afterwards you work persistently whilst perservering and pray without ceasing

Tell us about your music career, how many album do you have to your credit?

Music is the hobby i took serious.lol. 6 albums
comfussion 2004/ Abinibility 2006/ TRADofunkHipSouL 2008/ Workerman movement ALL EYES OPEN 2010/ Root&Roll  Books 1&2 2012/ Workerman Allstars FAMOUS FIVE 2012/ Gospel Truth 2012 & Motor music (coming soon)

Basically created to do groovy jams for the present generation but with good lyrics and moral ideals and also introduce members to the general public before all members go solo. Presently all individual works are being released as we speak. The Famous five LP is the final group work as a unit

What record label are you signed on to?

Am signed to God and myself, workerman E.N.T/Habithath sounds

What is your take on  piracy?

I don tire its a battle that belongs to the law of the land but since no one seems to pursue the law to run effectively i guess we shall remain in trouble, as it is i am a single individual there's no way i will be able to approach and fight a cartel of thieves with the little i earn to keep body and soul together. The solution still lies with the government if only they were interested in entertainment they will find the need to protect its incomes just as the FBI tags every cd in America with Anti piracy warning.

Koffi as a family man...

Play my dutiful role of husband and daddy to the best of my ability, am usually home a lot with family as my bedroom happens to be my favourite hangout.lol am more of an introvert really so being around family comes easy to me.

Koffi next 10yrs...

only God knows, i dont propose for him to dispose for me its God proposed God disposes

Koffi and Owen Gee...

Maddest comical duo to ever work the Nigerian earth.lol yep we just glue easily because we agree on a lot of valueable principles, we dont drink ,smoke or dilly dally unnecessarily we both share similar visions in the right direction. He happened to be the perfect man for a sidekick in 2 blackBirds and afterward we just took the high road together, Once upon a mad also showcased a lot of Owen's crazy nature as rightfully termed the Crazy comedian.

Any dream collabo?

Guess at this point i have fulfilled all the collaborations i wished for. on Abinibility album i had Alibaba, klint, stella Damasus,9ice,ToluAjayi,kash11,BigLo,Desperado,Sound sultan Nomoreloss,Aladdin,Ovaload,Gino,Ajasa,Nigga Raw,KB,Yaw,Lepacious,Saeed mohammed, xcklusive. on TradofunkHipSouL i had OwenGee,M.I, African china, Isolate, Sossick,Fatai Rolling Dollar,BOUQUI,Asa,Eyiyemi Rogbiyin. on Root and Roll i have Adunni,Immaculate, M.smooth and sohlah Babs,Bash,Abbey Gospel, Sting Dee,OluJazz etc on Gospel Truth so except i be oloju kokoro what more do i need.lol

Koffi as ajian daro pale pale...my favourite character..tell us about that..

lol.chief AdissA is an alter ego i play to discuss serious issues in a sublimal way from an elderly persons point of view it so happens to be the old age element of the dauda character i played on campus in twilight zone way back. The character returns soon to TV as a young hustler named Kabuki in the sitcom Goose and Gander. AdissA would return in the future in AJIAN'S PRIDE...... watch out!.lol
