Social Media Week is a worldwide event exploring the social, cultural and economic impact of social media. Our mission is to help people and organizations connect through collaboration, learning and the sharing of ideas and information.
In just under five years, Social Media Week has become a platform and a community that has grown to more than 100k members in 26 cities around the world...

The lagos edition was held at 3 locations namely,terra kulture,porsche cafe,and e-learning centre,different topics are discussed at different venues with different speakers,its was an interesting week and if you werent there you missed...

There are also performances by different artistes from different record label,first was tuface,j martins with dammy krane,rocksteady..
Then there was the choic boiz with jezzy jagz,ice prince zamani..
Eme crew also graced the stage but without wizkid..
And also sasha p,sound sultan,baba dee,chindinma,toladollface,
the last day was jazz sound..

Its was an interesting week,looking forward to next year...

SHEYI ASHEKUN...........THE FUTURE OF NAIJA MOVIE INDUSTRY

Sheyi ashekun is a beautiful,talented actress,seen some of her movies and this is the next big thing in acting,she has featured in so many series and movies and got a lot of experience in the industry..

How did you get involved in Acting?
Started in 2006 when I got a role in Life secrets.

Your first role as an actress?
In the soap opera, Life secrets 2006

How many movies have you featured in?
Quite a number, I don't like counting them

What was your first film like?
It was beautiful, quite easy, no intimidation, no fear at all.

What was your experience on your first movie set?
 I go to learn that Acting is a lot of work, requires so much..

Who are the actors you always want to work with?
Muyiwa Ademola, because he encourages me and he assures me I can do it; Odun Adekola because he is not afraid to tell you when he is fascinated by you(like he told me on the set of Mufu Olosha Oko) and that is a very strong encouragement which you seldom get as an upcoming artiste, most people don't want to tell you you are good so other people don't notice you; Femi Adebayo because with him, acting just flows naturally, we worked together on the set of Onika Mesan and he treated me like an equal, not a junior colleague. From him I learned a new definition to the word "Humility". I will forever be grateful to these people for never looking down on me and for making me feel I was doing something meaningful.

What do you learn from your senior colleagues?
HMm! Different things. We learn different things from different people. From observing some people, you know the kind of person you never want to be.

Have you produced any movie?
No. Not yet

Who are your favorite actors and actress in naija?
Let me start by declaring I LOVE Mercy Johnson, her acting is...out of this world; I will always LOVE Omotola Jalade(she was one of those who made this job appealing to me), Funke Akindele is a beautiful and talented actress, to her, acting comes as naturally as breathing; I love watching Toyin Aimakhu, she understands this job so well and when u watch her, u know she understands what she is doing; I Love RMD but then, who doesn't

Your favorite naija movie of all time?
Lagos Girls by Sunny Ali

What else do u do aside acting?
Catering...

Have you done any English movie?
English Soap opera Yes! Life secrets, Bridges, Private Sector and some others

Tell us one thing you will love to change in nollywood.
I believe everyone should be paid(well paid) for the work they have done. People say the love of money is the root of Evil, let's think what the lack of money can bring out of people.

Who is the lucky guy?
 For now my God is my boyfriend o.....

I AM LILY JOHNSON......

 Ivera-Lilian Uzoamaka Ozomma-Jonn started her journey into music in secondary school where she was known in the school choir for her rather deep alto and in the school for her performances.

The soul singer and song writer was born in Enugu and moved to Lagos with her family in the late 90s. While working and acquiring a graduate diploma in Public Relations and a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, she still held on to her love and passion for music; writing and performing songs with her church choir for years.

A published writer whose thoughts and opinions on women issues can be found on her blog I Am ....Lily Johnson, also has a collection of short stories 'In Blood and Soul published by WSIC Ebooks Ltd.

She is inspired by the works of Tracy Chapman, Onyeka Onwenu, Anita Baker, The late Tina Onwudiwe, Toni Braxton, and Aretha Franklin.

Lily Johnson is currently working on her debut album and her singles ‘Playboy’ and ‘Kilode’ are currently enjoying airplay on radio stations across the country.

What is your name?

My name is Ivera-Lillian Uzoamaka Ozomma-Jonn but I am known as Lily Johnson.

Background?

I am from Enugu State. Born in Enugu and did most of my schooling there. I am the first of five kids.

Why music?

Well, the truth is that I found myself singing and writing songs at an early age. I grew up listening to a lot of music because my dad and mum are such great fans of good music. We had stacks of records that my folks played every day. Singing and making music just comes naturally to me and I love it.

The reaction of your parents when you decided to start music?

They were very supportive because they had known for a long time that I was going to do music professionally so I have their full support.

How will you describe you kind of music?

I do mostly Soul music but I am a versatile artiste so I am going to be doing some other genres too.

As a child growing up, what kind of music did you listen to?

All kinds. Soul, pop, Afro beats, country. You name it, I listened to a lot of it. Lol.

What was the first song you ever wrote?

I wish I can remember that but I can’t really. I was quite young.

Tell us about your new single?

My new single Playboy is soul music.

And the album?

I am working on my debut album.

When did you realise you wanted to pursue music?

 I wanted to do this very early in life. I just knew this was what I wanted to do.

Who are the people you working with?

I am working with Big Foot Entertainment.

Your favorite Nigerian song?

I have loads of favourites. We have a lot of talented musicians in this country and if you love good music, you just can’t have just one favourite.

How much creative control do you have over your music?

I believe I have total creative control over my music.

As a lady, how do you cope with obstacles?

 I am always totally trusting that God is always in absolute control. I just do what I can and leave the rest to HIM

Aside music, what else do you have interest in?

Asides music, I am a writer and I have a collection of short stories online, In Blood and Soul. I am also the blog editor of www.bodyandmindforallwomen.blogspot.com. I am a makeup artist and I love all things that make a woman beautiful and satisfied with herself.

What record label are you signed on to?

 I’m presently being managed and run independently.

Your opinion about the Naija music scene?

We have a lot of talents in this country and I believe we are doing well. It can only get better and better

Your take about Naija songs?

 Nigerian songs are always at the top in the whole of Africa. It is something to be proud of so I say Naija songs aint bad at all.

How did you get involved in Acting?
I was introduced into Acting through Bukky Wright.

Have you any other talent aside acting?
Yes! I can sing very well and I'm going to do that soon.

What is your opinion about actors and actress going into singing?

It's no big deal if an actor decides to take a music career, we all are entertainers.

What was your first film like?
My first movie was funny, I had fun.

Have you ever being sexually abused?maybe in the course of you looking for a role.
I have never been sexually abused 

Tell me about an area in which you would like to improve as an actor?
I would love to go out for events more, I hardly go out cos I'm a very homely person but I would love to change all that and be seen more at events

Which has been your favorite character that you have performed?
I love the character I played in ALAKADA cos it's the direct opposite of me, I'm bringing back the character soon and in a bigger way this time.

Have you produced any movie?
I have Produced 7movies so far but still counting thou.

How do you think we can improve on our story lines?
It depends on the individual writer to know how to improve on a story being worked on

What do you think about the way movies are produced here in naija,like
new movies every week?
We are working on it and I'm sure it will get better soon.


Where do you get your inspirations from?
I get inspiration from God and people around me.

What makes you stands out?
My Talent definitely stands me out.

What have you learned from your senior actors?
I have learnt to be humble from my senior colleagues in the industry.

From where have you learned acting?
I didn't learn Acting from anywhere or anyone, it's my talent and I only worked on my craft personally.

How do you think film stars handle their popularity?
I think it's individual differences when it comes to stardom handling.

What has been your biggest achievement in the field of acting?
Being an Alist Actor in a very competitive industry like Nollywood.

Mention about any special recognition or award that you have received
for your acting skills?
Yes! Loads of Awards but the most recent is the Afro Hollywood Award for best supporting Actress 2012.

What kind of roles do you prefer?
I act any role I'm being given and I see them all as a challenge so I make sure I give my best at all times.

Acting nude in a movie,what is your take on it?
Acting nude is a total out of place act for me, I can never act nude cos this is Africa and we have cultures and traditions.

What is the relationship between the yoruba artiste and there english
counterparts?
We have mutual relationship with all of them, I personally have few friends amongst them and we relate well.

People often say our actors and actress dont do exercises,dont workout,what can you say about this?
It depends on individual to take their exercise seriously.

You have not done any English movie,why?
I have done Super story but I have not really been getting English scripts, I was called for Blackberry babes but I was on location at the time.

What is the hardest part of being a celebrity?
The hardest part of being a celebrity is that we do not have a life of our own.

Give me a few tips to be a successful actor?
Prayerful, hardwork, Education and humility are the tips of being a successful actor.

Wedding?
God's time is the best for wedding.

Who is the lucky man?
It's my private life and I don't want to talk about it.

Piracy?
Piracy is really killing us in this business and we really hope God makes a way soon.

Advice for upcoming actors.
All up and coming actors should put God first, be very humble and be consistent, rome wasn't built in a day but if you know what u are doing, u will surly get there......

My name is Adejumoke Aderounmu

Educational background?
I attended St. Bernerdettes Private school, Abeokuta Girls' Grammar School and Obafemi Awolowo University Ile-Ife respectively.

How did you get involved in Acting?
Acting for me was a coincidence, everyone around me including my lecturers in school thought I could do it and I got lucky when my friend's house was being used to shoot Okun Ife Yi in 2007, went with my friend to her house in Ibadan and I got lucky to get a nurse role after the person that was supposed to play the role refused to show up.

Your first role as an actress?
My first role was a nurse in Okun ife Yi and it was fun.

How many movies have you featured in?
I have featured in a couple of movies, lost count actually.

What was your first film like?
My first movie was fun unlike some people, I didn't have camera/star fright, I just did my thing and everybody thought I had acted before because they said I acted well, the Encouragement I got made me want to do more movies.

What was your experience on the set of ARUGBA?
ARUGBA's experience was a once in a life time experience, I learnt a lot and I was privileged to meet with professionals, TK called me for the role at the time I least expected and I was very happy to work with him.

Who are the actors you always want to work with?
I have always wanted to work with all the talented Actors in the industry and I've been able to work with some, I hope to work with others soon enough. I would want to work with every talented actor in the industry.

What do you learn from your senior colleagues?
I have learnt to be punctual on set and deliver roles spontaneously from my senior colleagues through working with them on set.

Have you produced any movie?
I produced my first movie in May this year and it's still at the editing at the moment, it's titled MABO.

Who are your favorite actors and actress in naija?
My favourite Nigerian Actors would be Aunty Joke Silva, Genevieve Nnaji, Toyin Aimakhu, Omoni Oboli, Un Olu Jacobs, Gabriel Afolayan, Bimbo Akintola.

Your favorite naija movie of all time?
My favourite Nigerian Movie of all time is Madam Dearest.

Where do you get inspiration from?
I get my inspiration from God almighty.

What else do u do aside acting?
Apart from Acting, I am a TV personality, working on my TV show at the moment, and I'll soon start a job as an OAP at Concert Radio(an online Radio in Nigeria) I have always wanted to be on Radio and include it in my Profile.

Tell us about your tv show?
My TV show is in process, it's a variety show of style and fashion, celebrity interviews and behind the scenes/reality show on one of our top music artiste, (I don't want to mention his name yet).it's strictly an entertainment show. I'm recording the first quarter soon by God's grace and it would start airing as soon as it is ready.

People say u talk to much in movies,why?
LMAO! If anyone says I talk too much in movies, then it's their opinion and I can't change it but I do not talk too much, my senior colleagues and directors are even more of the opinion that I have more of reactions, so people have different opinions.

Have you done any English movie?
I am a cross over actor, I act both English and yoruba movies and I have done some English movies as well.

Tell us one thing you will love to change in nollywood.
What I would love to change about the industry should show more in my works and that's what I intend doing.
