GROWING UP

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
Attended command pry sch. First Zion intn'l high sch for secondary sch educatn then Graduated frm Lagos state university, studied computer science.

FIRST TIME HANDLING THE CAMERA
First time handling the camera should be 2008, though have been around cameras and other video equipment since 2005(when I started learning, on set). I shot my 1st official video(We Apply by Boi Amani) in 2009, which got air play on just terrestrial tv stations only.

WHY CINEMATOGRAPHY?
I learnt my skill from Nigeria's no.1 cinematographer, Djtee. He happens to be related, so have been more like an apprentice since 2005. To me Cinematographers are the ones who truly interprets the view of a director. Bad cinematography, bad video output.

WHAT IS YOUR INTERACTION WITH THE PERFORMER AND LOOKS,DURING VIDEO SHOOT?
I try as much as possible not to impose a certain character on an artiste, as long as he delivers what I direct him/her to do, am fine. As for the models/female artiste, I...eeeerm...more like flirt with them, just to establish I kind'a 'down 2 earth' relationship.

YOU HAVE WORKED WITH SO MANY ARTISTE LATELY,ARE THEY OPEN TO YOUR IDEA AND TRUST YOUR JUDGEMENT.
Yes, very much. have worked with few known artistes tho... And so far, they love and appreciate my work.

HOW BIG IS A TYPICAL PRODUCTION IN TERMS OF YOUR CREW?
I work with a Team of five, and a total crew of not less than 15 people.

HOW MUCH TIME DO YOU HAVE TO SHOOT A VIDEO IN  NAIJA?
It depends of logistics, but I love to take my time. I shoot 16hrs non stop and more in some cases.

HOW LONG IS THE POST PRODUCTION STAGE?
My post production takes 2weeks at most.

THERE'S A LOT OF DETAILS IN YOUR VIDEOS,WHY?
Lots of details in my video because I take my time whenever am shooting. Time/budget is never enough, I always wanna do more.

WHO DO YOU LOOK YOU TO AS A MENTOR?
Foreign- Michael bay, Guy richie and benny boom.

DO YOU THINK WE ARE THERE IN TERMS OF MUSIC VIDEOS?
YES! We are there when it comes 2 muzik video. The only obstacle we still have is our budget. But we kind'a work around it.

HOW MANY MUSIC VIDEOS HAVE YOU SHOT?
Have shot over 20 videos.

WHICH IS YOUR BEST?
Cant say I have the best now, because I always make sure my next video is better than my previous.

UNLIMITED IN 5YRS?
Unlimited in 5yrs. Bigger company that supplies the services of Cinematographer, for movies, music videos, tvc,etc
M.S.Y.A.C ent.
